CHURCH HISTORY

The Full Gospel Prayer Group started in 1953 in The True Blue Hall in Barrie, ON.  From there, they grew and moved their services to the Orange Hall on Burton Ave in Barrie, ON.  They prayed for a church building they could call their own and asked the Lord to supply the financial need.  Then one day, they were able to raise enough cash to pay for the building at 156 St. Vincent St. with cash in full.  Praise God!

The Full Gospel Lighthouse as it is known today, has had many people come and go.  Back in the day, the Pastors in the Pentecostal churches back then, came from the Full Gospel Lighthouse.  The Graham’s continued on with God’s work until He called them home an their work was finished.

There have been many pastors be a part of our church (see list).  All of them have now passed on and we miss them all dearly.  Just like the many people of the congregation have passed on, moved away or left the church completely.

Pastor John, has been with the church since he was a child.  He learned alot under the Graham’s ministry.  The Lord told him he would be a pastor in this church one day.  Pastor Graham died in 1998, Sister Graham and Pastor Arnold both passed away in 2008, 6 weeks apart.

After their passing, we were left with the church in John (who wasn’t a pastor yer) and Christine’s hands to take care of.  With the help of Pastor Norm Stinson, we formed a Board of Directors and a few hiccups, we were legally able to take over the church and keep it going.  John then looked into getting ordained thru the I. A. O. G International Canada.  As they say, the rest is history.
